Thirst

Daily Vitamin

Thirst — “I long to drink of you, O God, to drink deeply from the streams of pleasure flowing from your presence. My longings overwhelm me for more of you! My soul thirsts, pants, and longs for the living God. I want to come and see the face of God.” (Psalms 42:1-2, The Passion Translation)

Jesus told the woman at the well, “If you drink from Jacob’s well, you’ll be thirsty again, but if anyone drinks the living water I give them, they will never be thirsty again. For when you drink the water I give you, it becomes a gushing fountain of the Holy Spirit, flooding you with endless life!” (John 4:13-14, TPT)

King David cried out for such water as Jesus offered the woman at the well! What well is our society drinking from? We have forsaken the water of communion and community for the water of intellect, knowledge, and learning. That water is good but Jesus has the pure water that will bring us into a relationship with Daddy God, Holy Spirit and Himself. When we drink of His water, then we will have a right relationship with the earthly realm!
