One — “The mass of believers continued to be one in heart and mind; and from this place of their oneness they began to live a spontaneous lifestyle of sharing their possessions unselfishly. Driven by a sense of, “We owe this message to the world”, they continued to give very powerful testimony to the resurrection of Jesus. Meanwhile, a great awareness of grace and favor pervaded the entire community in a wonderful spirit of generosity.” (Acts 4:32-33, The Mirror Bible)

They became one in “heart and mind.”  Think on that!

The context of this testimony came from a prayer meeting after John and Peter had been released from jail. The authorities couldn’t find anything to charge them with. So they released them, commanding them to not speak or teach about Jesus anymore. However, John and Peter went ahead and had a prayer meeting with the other believers.

It was so powerful that the ground shook! This caused them to become of “one heart and mind!” So much so, that they started to share their belongings so no one would be without. Talk about unity! They truly become one. Some even sold property to help others. Somewhere in our society, we have lost the value of being one with each other.

Let’s find our way back, and be like those that felt they owed the world this message!

Be a Blessing,

Sir Gregory
